breakfree

Maybe we all have the desire to break free from the grid but are just too afraid to stand up and say it.

Tasting new writers, yum

How to feel like JK Rowling for the day:

1. Write story and by fluke, get it published in a local anthology DD3 Writers, New Fiction
2. Attend book launch in ultra-chic venue Tasting Rooms in Dundee (when did this place spring up?!)
3. Drink free wine, eat olives and strawberries whilst looking posh
4. Mingle with other writers and look like you know what you're talking about
5. Sign a few copies then head home with several copies of book to show off to friends/family (just in case they thought you were making it all up!)

Easy!!!

Saturday 22nd (the day after my birthday) saw the launch of this book I've been banging on about. To anyone who (like me) didn't know the tasting rooms existed - it's next to the old 'Dhi-stills' (is that even how you spell it...you know what I mean anyway!) and is a yummy wine bar, with a cheese bar and loads of organic pies and chocolate, yum. The launch went really well, with folk reading passages from their stories...but not me - eek! I'd rather stick to the writing, thanks. It takes sooo much confidence to read out your own ramblings in a crowded room, even after the free wines I couldn't pluck up the courage! Anyway the place was lush, the personal piano player was lush, the nibbles and drinks were lush, and the book is of course - lush!!!

See the links post or www.dd3writers.com for details on purchasing it!
